My review:
This Xperts Flame torch does exactly what I need it to do for my baking needs and works very well. It is a great addition to our kitchen. It has many uses such as to brulee, melt cheeses, sear tomatoes, browning meringue, glaze baked ham, or any other culinary masterpiece. It also can be used for other projects such as arts and crafts. I've played with a few desserts especially with creme brulee and it seems to do the trick. After a little practice you'll be able to get the hang of it in no time. This thing is made well and you can tell the quality when you pick it up. It is also very ergonomic and easy to hold. I really like the size of this torch and the way it functions. The shape of the torch keeps fingers and hands away from the flame. Even at an angle, the flow allows the flame to only be directed at the food. It's very easy to use. There is a safety switch on the torch, so it doesn't get fired up accidentally. Just slide the lock button down. Turn the knob til you hear the gases seeping out and press the ignition button to ignite the flame. Turn the rotating knob all the way down to shut it off again and slide the safety switch back to the locked position. I also like that it has a clear window so I can see exactly how much butane is left. I love the base on this torch, it has a large self-standing base which can be detached. The stand is flat and sturdy and sits well in the cabinet on its own after use. The torch is easy to refill, it doesn't come with butane, you have to purchase it separately but this is easy to find in any grocery store or on Amazon of course.The instructions are straightforward in that you hold the torch and the butane upside-down (so the nozzle is facing downward), and then just insert the butane nozzle into the valve on the torch applying direct downward pressure. All in all, it's only been a few weeks, but I have had no problems with the torch. This is a good investment for those who love to cook desserts.
