I have been using this on my little rescued dog that came to me with bad teeth. He had a dental cleaning a few months ago. Prior to the cleaning, tartar was severe. In efforts to avoid tartar build up, we are using this. We've been using this product for little under a month and so far it has been making his breath smell fresher and has kept his teeth free from any build up. Application is fast, quick and easy. I gently pull my dog's lips and cheeks up, put the gel on the finger brush and rub along his teeth and gums. When we're done he gets a toy he really likes because they are not suppose to eat or drink for 30 min afterwards. The finger brush that comes with the dental care gel is perfect . It slides right onto my finger and is soft enough to get inside the gums, cheek areas, and all his teeth easily. It gives you more control when brushing your dog's teeth than a handled toothbrush and it's also more gentle on the teeth and gums. Fortunately my 11lb Shih tzu lets me brush his teeth. He doesn't like it one bit but he is a polite little guy. All in all, it does help with breath and keeping some of the tartar off the teeth. Hopefully with continued use it will prevent him from needing any extractions in the future.
