I recently received a very nice natural deodorant from InstaNatural. InstNatural makes all natural, organic products using only the best plant-based essential oils and extracts. Most deodorants contain Aluminum salts to prevent sweating by causing skin cells to swell and sweat glands to close. Aluminum has been linked to a variety of different health issues including but not limited to: seizures, cancers, and kidney problems. Phthalates are used in deodorants for fragrance but these are linked to childhood development issues as well as an increased risk of allergies. Parabens are used in deodorants for preservation reasons however they are linked to causing problems with parts of your body’s endocrine system. I've been slowly transitioning over to more natural products. Face wash, shampoo, soap, skin care products, even toothpaste, but not deodorant. My deodorant has to work well, especially during warm weather so I was a bit skeptical about using this product. This is a deodorant only; not an anti-antiperspirant. However the chosen ingredients do have natural properties to help keep bacteria from sweating in check. So with that being said it doesn't prevent sweating but it does do wonders for preventing odor. It has just the right amount of essential oils for a fresh scent that won’t overpower. Its scent does not bother my allergies, and its ingredients do not make my skin itch or have any other allergic reactions. The use of only natural ingredients reduces the probability of suffering from diseases caused by toxic chemicals and limits the likelihood of experiencing contact dermatitis caused by irritants and allergens. Since transitioning to natural deodorant, my underarms are feeling fresh and odor-free even without deodorant. Overall this is a great aluminum-free deodorant that works without hazardous chemicals and fragrances.
